So Paterno makes me totally remember how much I do not like sports. And how much I love cheering. At the same time.
My argument for the former goes something like this... The God of competition, "being better" than someone/thing, the bragging, the ACTUAL sense of superiority a fan feels...which naturally leads to the sense of anger at losing. That roller coaster can be a blast, but at what point is 'winning' a moral authority in its own right?? It must be the easiest job in the world to work for JoePa, cuz CLEARLY those guys would do anything to keep their jobs for that moment, even if it meant going down in flames later. Literally.
But I love the structure of Sports, virtually any sanctioned competition intrigues me. I like the fake/real pressure depending on the sport, like car racing or chess, as it were...lol. The rules create Parity - it's why they play, bcuz either could ostensibly win. That's the beauty of sports to me, the Rules.
And the Administration and Coaching staff of Anywhere, USA... serve at the pleasure of their constituency, and by not protecting those children, they put themselves and the sorry excuse of not rocking the apple cart in juxtaposition to the people that pay them, the fans.
And, seriously, JoePa, did you just think to yourself in that signature rasp...well, now I've heard it all... when it was brought to you, and you passed it off to Admin? Didn't think a thing of it after that, eh? That says a lot about you.
Enjoy your retirement with your Great-grand children.

Weather is rainy today, but when I took the dogs out for a walk to get coffee, the sky was AWEsome with all these cool red and oranges fanning through the morning clouds...*need better camera* Duly noted..lol. But the Sun never piqued. Just a fantastic reminder. I have gotten a few 10-15 minutes in this month. : ) In some ways helping me to see things spiritually and in some ways pushing my bad thought habits right on out into the open...lol. Helpful and annoying. Off to work!
Cheers ~
